It can all seem very overwhelming, there are so many things to try to do and try to remember and maintain. Sometimes we get so busy taking care of our kids, family, friends, and job that we always seem to put our own care on the back burner. The result? We’re tired, burnt out, cranky, unhealthy, and unhappy.
It’s important to take a holistic approach to your health goals. It’s easy to start a clean diet, maintain it for a few weeks or months while it’s excited and we’re feeling motivated, but all too often life happens and the plan gets dropped long term. To create a healthy lifestyle that lasts, we need to work in all areas of our health. Not just physical, but also mental and emotional. When you take a holistic approach, you can achieve health in a way that doesn’t sabotage your mental wellbeing, family’s welfare, or any other life priorities.
Thinking about eating well, getting your water, fitting in 10,000 steps, getting to the gym, making sure you have enough fibre, meditate to calm your mind, get enough sleep, etc., etc., can be so overwhelming!
The key is to focus on baby steps. One small action that will move you closer to your goal. Before you know it, you’ll have baby stepped your way an incredible distance, and because it’s slow and steady, you’ll have less slipping backwards.
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.
